SPAHN RANCH                                                   

I worked in Chatsworth California for year and never knew that the Manson Family hold out was just a few miles from my office. Once I found out how close it was, I organized a hike to see where they hung out. The small cave where they were all photographed was of special interest.

We first hiked to the swale where they found Donald "shorty" Shea's body. He was killed for being a snitch, and then headed over to the cave!


It took us a bit of trail blazing and poison oak to find the cave, but we sure did. In fact Kia sat exactly where Squeaky Fromme sat and I sat were Tex Watson sat.

        
Chuck sure loved his crow, so I brought my own.
